The Armchair Liturgist: DVC Homiletics
What do you think: worthy of a 6th Sunday of Easter homily topic, or not?
At our parish both pastor and vicar general treated it. The latter preached last night to speak of it as an opportunity for adults to solidify their understanding of faith. The former suggested that for the people who come to church, it's just another blip on the pop culture screen. Our faith was not battered by Jesus Christ Superstar or by The Last Temptation of Christ. For believers, it's just a story.
So ... preachers will largely have a captive audience for whom the movie/book/phenomenon is not a real issue. Maybe. How did your parish preach on it? How would you do it yourself?
