Don't Look Now, But The Voice of God is Coming
"Overheard" in another commentariat:
I loathe those 'voice of God' songs. I can't really say why, compared with the propers, but they just make my skin crawl.
Just a few official antiphons heading your way:
25 December: "The Lord said to me: You are my Son; this day I have begotten you"
22 January: "I am the light of the world, says the Lord ..."
5 February: "Happy are the sorrowing; they shall be consoled. Happy those who hunger and thirst for what is right; they shall be satisfied."
Not to mention gospel acclamation verses:
11 December: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me ..."
19 February: "The Lord sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor ..."
