Cassini closes in on Saturn
Go here to see what's up. I liked the analysis of Phoebe. I understand the science of how radiation (visible light, infrared, UV, etc.) reveals the substance of what is being viewed, but it's still marvelous to be able to say, "This is ice; these are carbon compounds; this is iron."
Any ideas on why half of Iapetus is blacker than coal and the other half is like the Zamboni just finished with it?
